What is the difference between taking medicines at home and getting admitted in your hospital?
In most cases, taking medicines at home is enough. Chronic degenerative diseases that will not respond well to the medicines. In such cases, along with the medicines, panchakarma treatment, physiotherapy, dietary modifications, and detoxification will produce better results. Moreover, detoxification is possible only in an inpatient unit, which requires a meticulous treatment plan and a physician's care. The panel of doctors will be alongside the patient in the Inpatient unit. This is the significance of inpatient treatment over OP treatment.
Whether in – patient treatment is required for all diseases treated in Ayurveda
No, most of the diseases can be solved with OP treatment. Chronic diseases need IP treatment. In allopathic treatment, whether all patients are admitted in hospital? Likewise, in Ayurveda, chronic diseases which needs panchakarma procedures require admission.
What are all the treatment modalities adopted in your hospital?
Traditional ayurvedic therapy like panchakarma, which includes therapeutic vomiting, therapeutic purgation, administration of enema, and other purvakarmas (pre panchakarma procedures) like patra potala svedam, jambeera pinda svedam, bandaging are done here. varma massage of the Siddha tradition is also available. These therapies are done with an in-depth understanding of tridoshic and pancha maha bhutha theories, which are the base of ayurveda.
How many days will a patient should stay?
Based on the clinical picture of the patient, he or she may be advised to stay for 7 days / 14 days, or 21 days. Sometimes, the doctor may advise to stay for more days if needed. After a thorough clinical examination, the chief doctor will decide the exact number of days.
Whether by stander is needed for all patients?
Every patient is requested to bring a bystander with them. For some treatment procedures, a bystander is necessarily needed. Some treatments cannot be done if there is no bystander.
What is the rent of the rooms?
We have Executive, double AC, and single non-AC rooms, the room tariff are mentioned in the facility. We give mineral water to everyone. Every room is provided with a color TV. A standby generator facility is provided in the IP.
What type of food can we get in the hospital?
We have a canteen. We are giving no oil, no tamarind, and less spicy vegetarian food according to the state and stage of the diseases. Only South Indian vegetarian food is available.
What are all the materials the patients should bring to the hospital?
The admission procedure will require identity proof (with a photograph), proof of residence, and a passport size photograph. Please bring minimum sets of comfortable clothes for yoga and exercise, winter clothes, personal care products, blankets and towels, books for reading, a water bottle, personal utensils, all your medical case reports, a glucometer if you use one, and any personal medicines. Please avoid bringing expensive jewelry, watches, accessories, and excess money. The hospital or its staff will not be responsible for any loss of personal property.
How many persons are allowed to stay along with the patient?
One person can stay, the second person will be charged extra. But those persons who are accompanying the main patient or the bystander should bring a bed sheet, etc., from their house.
How many times will the doctors come and see the patient?
In regular intervals, the doctors will come. In case of an emergency, you can call the doctors at any time.
What are all the things that are not included in the hospital bill?
Scan, your travel expenditure, and a specialist consultation. Buying modern medicines as per the advice of modern doctors, if needed, will not come under the hospital bill.
What are all the things included in your bill?
Fees of the physician, fee of all panchakarma procedures, room rent, food, fee of in- house treatment, medical expenditure, and medicines are included in the bill. Bystander food will be charged extra.
Can we do prayer, meditation in the campus?
You can always pray according to your religious practice within the room. You should not hurt other people's feelings or beliefs.
Do I have to pay advance?
Yes, 50% of the total expenditure is the advance. It must be paid on day one. Then the bill can be paid intermittently.
Will I get a discharge summary?
All the original reports, along with the discharge summary, will be given to you.
Does Ayurveda have insurance?
Cashless claims are not available at our hospital. You have to pay the bill and get reimbursed from your insurer. That is entirely your responsibility. Right now, the hospital does not accept payment from insurance companies. We will assist you if you require any bills or supporting documents in order to obtain insurance. We provide it to you based on your requirements.
Do you have an internet facility?
Yes, internet (Wifi) is available. It will be charged rs.50/- per day. You can contact the system administrator for a password request.
Is there a facility for washing clothes?
Yes. There is a facility for washing clothes. 24 hours water supply is available. It is better if you wash your clothes yourself, if it is not possible, a lady who comes there for room cleaning will wash clothes. The charges that she demands for it have to be paid directly.
What will the total expenditure be?
The total expenditure will be answered only after a thorough examination. Kindly decide whether you will be able to pay the money. Sit with the duty doctor or the RMO and understand what will be expenditure, then decide, and you can come.

Is there a power cut at the hospital?
Yes, there are power cuts; however, we have a generator
Is there a credit/Debit card facility? What are the other ways to pay money?
A credit card facility is available in our hospital. Money will be accepted as a cash demand draft, or it can be transferred to the hospital account from your account.
Pickup from the Airport (car facility)
It will take about 3 ½ hours to travel from the airport to our hospital. In the morning and evening hours, the traffic will be heavy, so it will take one extra hour. Usually, the taxi people whom we will send from here they charge around Rs. 3000 for a non a/c ambassador car. You can also book a car from the airport. Charges will be high for vehicles like the Innova with air conditioning facilities.
Why are heavy work outs prohibited during the treatment period?
Physical & mental exertion should be avoided or minimized during ayurvedic treatments. So vigorous physical exercise like jogging, swimming, cycling, weight training, etc. will not be allowed during some treatments.
Can I do Yoga everyday during treatment?
Yoga and meditation are part of our treatment program. They can be specific or general, as the case may be. Doctors will include yoga in your treatment courses depending upon your condition and its compatibility with various Ayurvedic treatments.
Can we touch cold water?
You can touch cold water, and you can use regular water for cleaning your hands and legs. There is nothing wrong with that.
Are any vaccinations necessary?
There are no obligatory vaccinations in India. Please consult your GP before you travel.
Do I have to bring my medical reports during consultation?
Yes, you can either bring all relevant medical records or email us prior to the visit.
What is your admission policy?
VK Ayurveda Hospital admits patients only for treatment purposes. Regarding accompanying persons, the centers follow the same accepted guidelines as in other hospitals.
Is there a specific time for admission and discharge?
Admission can be done on all working days between 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. You are requested to complete the discharge formalities before 2:00 p.m. on the day of discharge. Our standard check out time is 2:00 p.m. Please plan your schedule accordingly.
Am I allowed to continue other medicines during the course of my treatment?
Please bring all prescriptions and medications that you are currently taking. Following consultations with our doctors, you will be suitably advised about medication and dosage.
Do I need to book my rooms in advance?
Yes. Please book your rooms one week in advance.
Do I need to bring my medical reports?
Yes. Please bring along all recent medical reports and investigations.
Do you have an emergency unit?
No. Whenever there is a clinical emergency, our panel of doctors will take the patient to a nearby hospital with which we are associated, where the best possible treatment will be given.
Shall I pay the charges through EMI?
There is a facility to pay the charges in EMI. It is provided by a company called SAVEIN. He is third party service provider like bajaj finserv. So, it’s up to the company to provide EMI or not. Pleasecontact Accounts Manager or SAVEIN customer care ( ) to know more about it.
Can I come on daily basis for panchakarma treatment from home?
Yes, for some minor problems it is advised to come on daily basis for the treatment. But in chronic andserious diseases require internal medicine, physiotherapy, yoga, dietary modifications and purificatory treatments.Soit is better to have treatment as in-patient. Ask your doctor for clarification on this.
